Most goggles utilize laminated and coated lenses, where thin films are glued together for UV protection, polarization, or to reduce costs. These layers often peel, bubble, or fade after a season in chlorine or sun and the lenses themselves are generally made from thin plastics that crack under stress or with impact.

Soliton is different. Our lenses are made from thick, solid polycarbonate — the same impact-resistant material used in riot shields and bullet-proof glass. UV protection is embedded directly into the lens material itself, so there’s nothing to peel or wear off. They’re shatterproof. They’ve even been run over repeatedly by a one-ton truck and come out unscathed. That’s not a gimmick. That’s durability you can trust.

Many goggles use mixed plastics and rubbers blended with silicone. They may look and feel fine out of the box, but eye gaskets stiffen, crack, and warp after repeated exposure to chlorine, sun, and saltwater.

Soliton uses 100% premium silicone for both gaskets and straps. It stays soft, flexible, and skin-safe season after season. That means a seal you can trust and straps that won’t snap when you need them most.

Many goggles advertise button-style strap adjusters and snap buckles as premium features. In reality, they are fragile. Step on them once and they crack. Even without breaking, the buttons slip over time, loosening the fit until you’re constantly stopping to readjust. Sometimes they jam. And when they fail, the goggles are finished.
